Bootcamp Contenders in action - PHOTO SUPPLIED BY THE ODT Bootcamp came to a close on Friday with 32 individuals remaining in the running for selection.

"They have trained so hard" producer Doug Kamo said. "We know there will be some disappointed people on Thursday night when we make the offiial announcement at the Dunedin Casino but this shouldn't take away from the incredible commitment and dedication they have shown overvthe past 6 weeks".

New Zealand Fight and Fitness Academy trainer Ryan Henry said he was impressed with the group.

"They're all flying really well. It's the first time this has happened in Dunedin and I think it's brilliant. Boxing is quite a mental sport. It makes you a better person mentally and physically."

Those selected will continue with a further nine weeks of training before stepping in the ring at the Lion Foundation Arena on 14 July 2012.

The event will assist in raising funds for Dunedin based Malcam Trust a trust that works with youth between the ages of 14 and 24 years with programmes designed to ensure that they take every opportunity to broaden horizons through a diverse range of activities as well as employment related experiences.
